Liz runs the 1st Run Tacoma Super Shuffle

First Annual Run Tacoma Super Shuffle 5k in Wright Park

February 2, 2013

Liz finishes strong in the first Run Tacoma Super Shuffle

The Super Shuffle 5k this past Saturday was my first race in Tacoma and the first race organized by Run Tacoma. For myself, I was just happy to be racing in one of my favorite running spots in Tacoma. It was exciting to hear the enthusiastic responses about the route through Wright Park. Despite the gray and the cold, the innovative approach to a race route through Wright Park kept everyone enthused about the race. Rather than the typical two loops and a figure eight, the Super Shuffle covered a variety of perimeter and inner gravel trails which meandered over bridges and up and down a few short hills. The Super Shuffle had many supportive volunteers to keep runners on the right paths and I’m sure all of this support will help race organizer Danny Richards go far as he plans more races in Tacoma over the coming years!
