Position: Fleet Feet Sports Training Coach

Scott Drennen is a first year coach for Fleet Feet Sports. His experience as a runner, competitor, and coach in distances from 800m through the marathon will benefit runners of all ages and abilities. His passion with running efficiently in combination with strength, endurance and speed training has developed some of the top athletes from the South Puget Sound.

Prior to joining the Fleet Feet team Coach Drennen competed as a standout high school athlete and then collegiate athlete. His accomplishments include a State NWACC 10,000M championship and a 6th place finish in the Big Sky Conference 10,000m. As a master runner Coach Drennen has been listed as a Northwest Best Times for age division.

The passion to compete led him to coaching in 2000 - 2006 joining with Federal way Track Club he coached as an assistant coach. He contributed to the success of the program with national recognition as one of the top track clubs in the country.

In 2004 as Head Cross Country Coach for Orting High School he coached Katrina Drennen and Ryan Dye to Orting’s first appearance at the state championships in over a decade and first state championship by Katrina Drennen in the schools history.

In 2005 – 2009 He coached for Sumner High School. Accomplishments included coaching athletes placing in the top the top three at the State Championships for 5 years including a state championship and state record in the 3200m by Katrina Drennen and runner up performances by Hillary Norris.

Many of his athletes have continued on as standout collegiate athletes. Some of his best memories are from the informal coaching bonds of winter boot camps that laid the foundation for athletes’ success in the spring and beyond.
